Bengaluru-based edtech unicorn Unacademy has elevated Arooshi Singh from Director of People Experience and Culture to the role of Head of HR.
The development comes after the Gaurav Munjal-led company elevated Abhishek Pipara to the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its offline centres business.

“I’m thrilled to share that Arooshi Singh, who has been with us for over seven incredible years, is being promoted to Head of HR...,” said Gaurav Munjal, CEO and co-founder of Unacademy, in a Slack message to employees on Monday.
"Arooshi has worn many hats and led multiple functions across HR with dedication, passion, and excellence. Her journey with Unacademy has been inspiring, and her impact on the team has been immense," Munjal wrote.
Singh will replace Sandhydeep Purri, who was appointed as Chief People Officer in November 2023.

Before the current role, Arooshi led multiple functions across HR functions at Unacademy. She joined the company in October 2017 as a junior staff member for employee wellness.
Before joining Unacademy, she spent over five years teaching yoga and building communities around it. She also worked as a Business Development Specialist at Directi.
Unacademy's financial performance
Unacademy reportedly recorded a total revenue of Rs 988 crore in FY24, reflecting a 5% decline from Rs 1,044 crore in FY23.
Notably, the edtech major saw a 62% reduction in net losses, reporting a loss of Rs 631 crore, a significant improvement from the Rs 1,678 crore loss in FY23.
