Absolute Brands and Retail raises 21Cr in seed funding round led by Capstone Ventures

Indian fashion and lifestyle startup Absolute Brands and Retail has raised $2.5 million (approximately Rs 21 crore) in a seed funding round led by Capstone Ventures, with participation from various angel investors.

Building a network of fashion apparel brands

Founded in 2023 by industry veteran Vishnu Prasad, Absolute Brands is building a network of in-house fashion apparel brands targeting both existing and new customer segments. The startup’s first apparel brand, Big Hello, offers stylish, high-quality clothing specifically designed for plus-size individuals in India.

What is the purpose of fundraising?

Absolute Brands said it will use the funding to create an offline retail presence for Big Hello and develop its cutting-edge technology platform for an enhanced omnichannel customer experience. It aims to open the first set of Big Hello stores over the next three months in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.

Competitive landscape  

Absolute Brands may encounter competition from several other fashion entities such as Aastey, The Mad Dresser, Hilo Design, Snitch, Flyrobe, and Bombay Shirt Company. However, with the aim of expanding to 500 retail stores across India in the next three years and launching additional brands, the company is poised for significant growth.
