Bengaluru-based AI product design startup Figr has raised $2.25 million in a seed funding round led by Kalaari Capital, with participation from Antler, Golden Sparrow, and several angel investors.

The startup plans to use the raised capital to enhance its AI-powered design platform and support the expansion of its product and growth teams.

It aims to streamline the design process for user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) professionals worldwide.

Funding to boost AI-driven design models

The capital infusion will primarily focus on improving Figr’s custom AI models, particularly for UI/UX design. Figr’s AI platform automates non-creative, repetitive tasks such as wireframing and prototyping, which helps designers focus more on the creative aspects of their work.

Co-founder and CEO Moksh Garg emphasized the impact of their platform on improving design efficiency. “Designers were spending weeks on research and wireframing. Figr handles these tasks, allowing designers to focus on what they do best,” Garg explained.

Expanding product and growth teams

As part of its growth strategy, Figr plans to use the funds to scale its product and growth teams. The startup is also targeting a diverse range of designers, including freelancers, design studios, and startup design teams.

Founded in 2023 by Moksh Garg and Chirag Singla, Figr claims to have gained traction with over 75,000 signups and more than 500,000 queries processed on its platform. Around 80% of its user base is outside India. It aims to achieve $1 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) within the next year.

Figr’s approach to simplifying UI/UX design

Figr's AI-driven platform enables design teams to create UI designs, build wireframes, and establish user flows faster by automating repetitive tasks. The startup claims that its platform can reduce design timelines by up to 10 times and significantly cut costs.

With the goal of enhancing productivity, Figr seamlessly integrates with existing workflows, making it easier for design teams to deliver high-quality results in a shorter time frame.

Sampath P, Partner at Kalaari Capital, said, "With its ability to blend collective human feedback and deep personalisation, AI will transform design into a more dynamic and iterative process ... The (Figr) platform seamlessly integrates with existing design workflows, driving significant gains in productivity and efficiency."

“We at Kalaari are thrilled to partner with them on their journey, as they shape the future of product design and unlock enormous value for designers worldwide," Sampath added.
