Autonomous robotics startup Peppermint has raised Rs 34 crore (approximately $4 million) in a Series A funding round led by JDSS, Enrission India Capital, Indian Angel Network (IAN), Vinners, and a consortium of angel investors.
The latest capital infusion brings the startup's total funding to Rs 49 crore ($5.6 million) and signals a major step in its ambition to scale globally following its entry into the U.S. market in 2024.
What does Peppermint do?
Founded in 2019 out of SINE, IIT Bombay, Peppermint develops autonomous robotic systems tailored for industrial and commercial environments, including floor-cleaning robots, material-handling solutions, and supporting accessories such as docking stations.
The startup said that the systems are powered by its proprietary Peppermint OS and an integrated electronics architecture called Skateboard, designed to address labour shortages, improve operational efficiency, and promote sustainability through energy-efficient performance.
Its cloud-connected platforms and mobile applications further enable real-time data insights, making their solutions easy to deploy and manage.
Purpose of fundraising
Peppermint plans to use the raised capital for expansion into Europe, Japan, and Asia-Pacific, upgrading its OS to serve both internal platforms and third-party OEMs, hiring talent, and strengthening production and supply chain infrastructure.
The startup is also preparing to launch new products, including a restroom-cleaning robot expected in 2025–2026.
"Our autonomous solutions are uniquely positioned to solve today’s global labour and sustainability challenges," said Runal Dahiwade, Founder and CEO of Peppermint. “This funding round empowers us to sharpen our global strategy, improve our technologies, and solidify our role as a key automation partner for industries worldwide."
Serving across sectors
Peppermint's product suite serves critical sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, commercial real estate, and logistics, where labour shortages and hygiene standards are persistent challenges.
The startup claims to have an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of Rs 18 crore ($2.2 million) and over 180 active enterprise clients across six countries.
