Kanao Ramesh and Harshil Naik, Co-founders of Contineu
Bengaluru-based deeptech startup Contineu has raised $1.2 million in a seed funding round led by SenseAI Ventures, with participation from Piper Serica Angel Fund.
The startup is attempting to overhaul how quality monitoring and compliance tracking are conducted at construction sites—moving away from manual, fragmented data collection toward automated, AI-powered infrastructure.
Founded by Harshil Naik and Kanao Ramesh, Contineu is developing what it describes as a "vertical data infrastructure stack" tailored specifically for the construction sector. At the core of its system are helmet-mounted 360-degree cameras that feed visual data into proprietary 3D computer vision models.
These models generate structured information in real-time, identifying quality issues, documenting compliance, and offering site-level visibility—without the need for human input. The startup’s approach is squarely aimed at addressing one of the construction industry’s most persistent bottlenecks: the lack of digitization and standardized data flows at the point of execution.
“Construction is one of the largest yet least digitized industries, and also one of the ripest for AI transformation,” said Rahul Agarwalla, Managing Partner at SenseAI Ventures. “Contineu isn’t just digitizing processes, it’s building the real-time data backbone the industry never had. Their AI-native, vertical-first approach reflects the kind of deep-tech innovation we believe will define the next generation of global category leaders.”
The startup claims its AI models outperform state-of-the-art benchmarks on construction-specific datasets, enabling high-precision defect detection and automated quality assurance workflows. This includes progress tracking and compliance documentation, which often require layers of manual reporting across subcontractors and project managers.
Harshil Naik, co-founder and CEO, said the funding comes at a moment when the startup is moving beyond proof-of-concept into broader platform development. “We’ve proven our strong foothold in solving quality control challenges and now have a clear trajectory into the broader construction data ecosystem,” Naik said.
“More than funding, our partnership with SenseAI and Piper Serica brings strategic direction, AI insight, and operational support that will shape the next phase of our journey.”
The startup plans to use the capital to expand its engineering and product teams, reinforce its AI infrastructure, and support rapid deployment across enterprise accounts.
Kanao Ramesh, the CTO and co-founder, said their long-term goal is to build the default data layer for construction globally. “We’re seeing strong technical validation and commercial momentum,” he said. “This funding allows us to double down on core engineering and build systems that scale real-time site intelligence globally.”
Piper Serica Angel Fund’s Investment Director, Ajay Modi, called the founders’ mix of AI expertise and construction domain knowledge a key differentiator. “We were drawn to Contineu’s bold vision and sharp execution. Harshil and Kanao bring deep domain expertise in AI and construction, streamlining defect detection and progress tracking,” Modi said.
