The San Jose-based telecom IoT startup Cavli Wireless has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Chiratae Ventures and Qualcomm Ventures.
Chiratae Ventures is a venture capital firm that invests in sectors such as Consumer-Tech, SaaS, Fintech, and Healthtech, while Qualcomm Ventures is a venture arm of Qualcomm Inc, a global semiconductor major.
With this funding, Cavli said it aims to focus on positioning the city of Kochi into a buzzing hub for IoT and telecom technology and foster a local technology graduate talent pool through campus recruitment & internship programs. It will also focus on global business expansion.
Founded in 2017 by John Mathew, Ajit Thomas, Tarun Thomas George, and Akhil Zeeb, The startup designs and manufactures cellular modules in 4G and 5G technologies with integrated eSIM.
Besides this, It offers IoT solutions to telecom product manufactures from 30+ countries and has a presence in the US, India, Spain, Vietnam, the UK, France, Italy, Turkey, and Germany.
