Dopplr, an AI-powered virtual try-on platform for apparel brands selling online, has raised $750,000 in a funding round led by Cornerstone Ventures, with participation from the U.S.-based BAT VC.

The startup plans to use the raised capital to expand its operations across a broader range of apparel categories, specifically targeting sportswear, lifestyle, and innerwear brands.

What does Dopplr do?

Founded in 2020 by Sresht Agarwal, Shubham Singh, and Vishal Daga, Dopplr has established itself as a leading provider of innovative virtual try-on technology.

The startup's technology allows online apparel brands to offer customers a highly realistic 3D experience. Shoppers can create digital replicas of themselves, which helps them determine the best fit for each garment and visualize how the clothes would appear on their own bodies.

"Dopplr helps apparel brands boost their digital marketing ROI by garnering more value from the website traffic while checking their operational cost of returns, thus pushing profitable growth. We are glad to have Cornerstone Ventures as our partners, and we shall use the investment to grow our tech and scale our operations," said Agarwal.

Personalization and data insights

One of the key features of Dopplr’s technology is its ability to collect and analyze behavioural data from customers.

This data provides detailed insights into online shopping habits, enabling brands to make data-driven decisions.

By understanding these patterns, brands can personalize the shopping experience, tailoring it to meet the specific needs and preferences of individual customers.

“We have been most excited about Dopplr’s tech platform that creates this digital-twin experience on AI-powered 3D meshes. The platform has the potential to be extended to use cases beyond virtual-try-ons to offer a metaverse experience and enable physical-digital inter-portability and eventually unlock Web3.0 ready solutions for digital commerce," said Nanika Kakkar, partner at Cornerstone Ventures.
