Emergent, an agentic vibe-coding platform, has raised $23 million in a Series A funding round led by Lightspeed, with participation from Together Fund, Y Combinator, Prosus Ventures, and leading angels including Jeff Dean, Devendra Chaplot, and Balaji Srinivasan.

The latest round brings Emergent’s total funding to $30 million, including a $7 million seed round backed by Y Combinator and Together Fund. The startup plans to use the raised capital to expand the team, deepen investments in research, and grow the platform.

Emergent said its online platform allows anyone, whether a small business owner, solo founder, or creator, to build and launch fully functional, production-ready software without writing code.

The startup provides a ready-to-use application that manages everything automatically, including user interfaces, servers, logins, payments, and scaling. Behind the scenes, a team of specialised AI agents handles coding, testing, and deployment, giving users the experience of having a virtual development team in the cloud.

It removes traditional barriers such as the need for capital, developers, or a technical co-founder. Its core technology, including the AI coding agent and supporting infrastructure for rapid deployment, was built entirely in-house to ensure security, speed, and reliability.

Emergent claims to have surpassed $15 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and enabled over one million users to build more than 1.5 million apps.

“My brother and I built Emergent to equip anyone with an idea and a phone to create software affordably,” said Mukund Jha, co-founder and CEO of Emergent.

“Emergent addresses the technical friction of starting or growing a business. Now anyone from small business owners and aspiring founders to creators can now bring their vision to life, no matter how complex, at a fraction of the time and cost. As the only vibe coding platform that enables users to build highly customizable, production-ready apps, our platform unlocks new possibilities for everyone - not just software engineers,” Jha added.

"Remember when photography demanded understanding lenses, aperture, lighting, film development, and more? Then the iPhone compressed all of it into a single button for billions of people. Emergent collapses the complexity of software into a single button anyone can press to ship, scale, earn and Lightspeed is proud to back them on this exciting journey," explained Hemant Mohapatra, Partner at Lightspeed.
