Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers has joined the Bengaluru-based D2C nutrition startup Supply6 as an investor.
Although the startup has not disclosed the financial terms, de Villiers has also become the brand ambassador.
"I am excited to join forces with Supply6. As an athlete, I recognize the critical role nutrition plays in my health and performance. Their commitment to comprehensive and convenient nutrition solutions aligns with my dedication to peak performance and well-being. The brand's rapid expansion is impressive, and I am eager to support its mission of promoting healthier lifestyles," said AB De Villiers.
What does Supply6 do?
Founded in 2019 by Vaibhav Bhandari and Rahul Jacob, Supply6 offers health supplements designed to promote healthier lifestyles.
The startup's flagship product - Foundational Nutrition Supplement - Supply6 360, aims to address common nutritional deficiencies in Vitamin D, B12, and gut health. It also offers targeted solutions for specific health concerns like skin wellness and energy enhancement.
Supply6 emphasizes a scientific approach to nutrition. Its products are based on the six essential pillars of nutrition—protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and fiber—each formulated to meet specific health requirements, the release notes.
Leadership comments
Vaibhav Bhandari, Co-Founder and CEO of Supply6, stated: "The market is saturated with various supplements and health products, while consumers seek easy-to-use options that effectively bridge their nutritional gaps. Driven by the core insight that 8 out of 10 Indians suffer from gut health issues and deficiencies in essential vitamins like D and B12, Supply6 360 addresses these concerns by combining these vitamins with other vital nutrients, probiotics, and prebiotics in a single sachet."
"Partnering with AB De Villiers, whose dedication to health and fitness mirrors our ethos, is thrilling. His nickname, Mr. 360, complements our flagship product perfectly. Together, we aim to revolutionise the market and inspire healthier eating habits," Bhandari added.
Backing from notable investors
Supply6 is backed by iSeed Ventures, MaGEHold, Silicon Road Ventures and a few prominent Angels.
The startup claims that it currently fulfills around 6000 orders per month. It primarily sells through its own D2C website, and it also sells across marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart and Cred.
"In our commitment to providing clean and functional products, we have just concluded the clinical trials for Supply6 360, which have shown great results, with an increase in Vitamin B12 and D3 levels by 92% and 67%, respectively, over a period of 60 days," the company said in a statemnet.
