Pizza Wings funding

Pizza Wings, a homegrown quick-service restaurant brand, has raised $2.8 million in a follow-up funding round led by notable investors, including Gruhas—the investment arm of Nikhil Kamath and Abhijeet Pai—along with Udaan co-founder Sujeet Kumar and other strategic backers.

Prior to this, the startup raised $4 million in a Seed funding round last year.

The startup plans to use the fresh funds to broaden its presence across Northern and Northeastern India and lay the foundation for future growth.

Founded in 2014 by Aditya Dhanda along with Rajpal Sangwan and Vikas Nain, Pizza Wings is focused on transforming the Indian pizza market with its "Fresh dough, Fresh Ingredient" philosophy, with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients.

It maintains stringent quality standards with FSSAI-compliant procedures and cold fermentation processes to keep ingredients fresh and flavorful.

"Pizza Wings has demonstrated robust growth since its inception and is the ideal balance of global quality and Indian flavours while leveraging a technology-driven delivery infrastructure to enhance customer experience. As a QSR brand, we are committed to using fresh ingredients, including daily-prepared dough and zero preservatives, that have resonated with our customers", said Aditya Dhanda.

Focus on tier 2 and tier 3 cities

While many global chains primarily target metro areas and Tier 1 cities, Pizza Wings sees an untapped opportunity in emerging markets. The startup aims to expand aggressively in Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions while maintaining a foothold in major urban centres.

Notably, the Haryana-based startup aims to add 50 new stores, scaling its footprint to 100 outlets by the end of 2025. It is also looking for strategic hires across finance, logistics and marketing.

"The brand's rapid growth and commitment to quality have set the stage for an ambitious expansion across India. With plans to scale to 100 outlets by the end of 2025 and create new opportunities by expanding its team, Pizza Wings is not just growing—it's building a strong foundation for long-term success," said Abhijeet Pai, Partner, Gruhas.
