Indian music licensing platform Hoopr has raised Rs 4 crore in the first tranche of its pre-Series A funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), with participation from multiple family offices and existing investors.

Hoopr is also engaged in advanced talks with several investors to raise more capital in this round, which valued it at Rs 160 crore post-money.

The firm will use the raised capital to accelerate the expansion of Smash, its self-serve, automated music licensing marketplace while deepening its Bollywood, regional, and global music catalogues.

It will also focus on strengthening product innovation, scale talent, and fuel global expansion, as Hoopr works to align its catalog with international markets and onboard global music for licensing in India.
