Industrial robotics startup Octobotics Tech Pvt. Ltd. has raised around Rs 10 crore in a Seed funding round led by Navam Capital, with participation from BYT Capital.

The company said the capital will be used to accelerate product development, strengthen field validation, and support international expansion, including certification-led market access.

Founded in 2020 by Ishan Bhatnagar and Gulshan Kumar, Octobotics builds AI-enabled, vertically integrated Non-Destructive Testing robotics platforms designed for hazardous and hard-to-access inspection environments. Its solutions are used across asset-intensive sectors such as oil and gas, chemicals and petrochemicals, power, marine, fertilisers, and railways.

The company currently serves customers including the Indian Navy, Indian Oil Corporation, BPCL, HPCL, Aarti Industries, GSFC, and Saudi S-Chem. Octobotics reported Rs 2 crore in annual revenue in the last fiscal year.

“This capital will support R&D for vertical integration and the pursuit of IECEx and ATEX certifications, while expanding our operations in India, Singapore, and the Middle East,” said Ishan Bhatnagar and Gulshan Kumar, co-founders of Octobotics. They added that the company’s distribution-led deployment model helps reduce human exposure to hazardous inspection tasks.

Commenting on the investment, Dr Anjan Ray, investment partner at Navam Capital, said, “Octobotics is addressing specific maintenance challenges within critical infrastructure. Their focus on a vertically integrated technology stack and a scalable distribution model provides a clear path for serving the global inspection market.”

Octobotics’ product portfolio includes PA RailScan, a phased-array ultrasonic testing system for rail weld inspection, Weld Sensei, an automated inspection platform for hazardous environments, and Reach Master, a specialised NDT tool for elevated and confined inspection zones.

The company combines robotics, field-grade sensing, and predictive analytics to convert inspection data into decision-ready insights that help operators improve safety, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend asset life.
