IndianStartupNews has been on top of most major D2C funding rounds in the recent weeks. From Sharrp backing Cava to Nat Habit’s latest round to BlissClub’s fresh capital plans, ISN has been on top of the funding frenzy in the consumer space.
Now, sources privy to confidential information tell ISN that Chosen, a Chennai-based skincare and haircare brand, has been in talks with Fireside Ventures to raise at least Rs 40 crore in a round which can be upsized if more investors join the bidding war.
Chosen will use the funds to expand its TAM, get more customers onboard and shore up revenue. Chosen and Fireside chose not to reply to ISN.
Founded by cosmetic dermatologist Dr Renita Rajan, Chosen aims to develop innovative skincare products tailored to Indian skin types through the use of patents and advanced technology formulations. This round has been long coming, though.
“Our goal is to secure pre-series funding of Rs 90-180 crore later this year," Rajan said when the company had raised around Rs 10 crore in 2024.
Currently, it offers 34 stock-keeping units (SKUs) and has 12 additional products in the pipeline. The startup plans to launch more products within the next 18 months. Over the past four years, It has developed a multi-channel ecosystem of highly active cosmetic products.
