Construction tech startups – essentially meaning a company that is solving problems in any stage during the construction of a building – are gaining traction among investors.

Now, there are three companies in the space that have raised venture capital money to scale operations. MeltPlan, an AI-powered preconstruction productivity platform started by former co-founder of healthtech startup Innovaccer, is in talks to raise $10-12 million in a fresh funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP), sources privy to confidential information told IndianStartupNews (ISN).

MeltPlan, founded by Kanav Hasija (Innovaccer) and Tanmaya Kala (DPR Construction) just a few months ago and is already in talks to raise funds to expand its reach, operating out of the US.

MeltPlan and Bessemer chose not to reply to ISN’s queries.

This round is coming just hours after Homerun, India’s quick-commerce infrastructure for construction and home-renovation materials platform raised Rs 40 crore ($5 million) in a fresh round led by Sorin Investments.

Similarly, Material Depot, a curated home interiors materials platform for modern Indian homes, has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Accel and Stellaris Venture Partners.

The round also saw participation from Whiteboard Capital, DeVC, Soma Capital, MyAsiaVC, along with a group of angel investors including Ramakant Sharma (Founder & CEO, Livspace), Ankit Nagori (Founder & CEO, Curefoods), Shashvat Nakrani (Founder, Bharatpe), Abhiroop Jayanthi (MD & Partner, Carlyle India), Niraj Singh (Founder & CEO, Spinny), Saurabh Jain (CEO, Livspace India), Abhishek Goyal (Founder & CEO, Tracxn), and Vineet Khanna (Co-Founder, Supertails).

A few weeks ago, HandyPanda, also a construction-tech startup, raised Rs 2 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by early-stage venture capital firm AJVC.
