Mixed-reality (MR) ad campaign startup Flam has raised Rs 38 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by Turbostart, Twin Ventures, and Alphatron Capital, along with undisclosed angel investors and family offices.

Existing investors such as Inventus Capital Partners, SVQ, and 9Unicorns (now 100 Unicorns) also participated in the round.

The latest round follows a previous venture investment round in 2021, where Flam raised $3.5 million led by Silicon Valley Quad and Inventus Capital Partners SV.

What does Flam do?

Founded in 2021 by Shourya Agarwal, Rajat Gupta, and Malhar Patil, Flam enables marketers to create interactive MR (mixed reality) content accessible through smartphone cameras.

The startup utilizes artificial intelligence, image recognition technology, and both image and ground tracking to optimize 3D graphics for creating and deploying MR content. The technology is designed to be scalable and capable of servicing billions of consumers worldwide.

Flam's platform transforms print, out-of-home (OOH), TV, and digital advertisements into engaging experiences for consumers, operating seamlessly across all Android and iOS mobile devices.

Utilizing funds to expand presence 

With this round of funding, Flam plans to use the newly raised funds to expand its presence in North America, Europe, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The startup aims to extend the reach of its MR platform, allowing more brands to leverage its interactive content capabilities. 

“Just like video ads, MR will become permanent in the brand’s marketing strategies worldwide,” said Shourya Agarwal, Founder and CEO of Flam.
