Raaz App co-founders Akash Kumar and Dr. Harshit Kukreja
Raaz App, a Bengaluru-based healthcare startup focusing on male reproductive health, has raised around $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Fireside Ventures.
Other participants included Campus Fund, Vaibhav Domkundwar of Better Capital, and individual investors such as Altaf Saiyed (Traya), Raymond Russell (Pharos Fund), Vaibhav Domkundwar (Better), Shreyas Kumar (Fermat Commerce), Bhargav Tarpara (Greenlit) among others.
The startup says it will use the capital to improve its platform, expand services, invest in clinical trials, and drive awareness campaigns.
Focus on male reproductive health
Launched in 2023 by Akash Kumar and Dr. Harshit Kukreja, Raaz App offers treatment for conditions like erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.
The startup provides teleconsultations, medications, diagnostics, counselling, and lifestyle guidance, all under the supervision of a dedicated doctor and a personal health concierge for each patient.
According to the founders, the platform is designed to help address men’s health needs in Tier II and Tier III cities, offering services in local languages to make care more accessible.
“One night in a Delhi hospital, I treated a young man who had attempted suicide due to marital issues caused by erectile dysfunction. His struggle, after spending his life savings on quacks and fake remedies, left me wondering how many men across Bharat silently grapple with similar challenges. That incident stayed with me, and years later, it inspired Akash and me to spend time in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh trying to understand the problem better. We saw multiple go through this ordeal and it led us to start Raaz," said Dr. Harshit Kukreja. Co-Founder & COO of Raaz.
Personalized, evidence-based care
Raaz App uses a data engine that stores anonymized case histories, tracking the effectiveness of different treatments and the individual variables involved.
This information helps the team refine treatment protocols, aiming to deliver more targeted and affordable care. The startup believes these insights can help tackle issues arising from India’s declining fertility rates, which could have long-term economic consequences if left unaddressed.
"For the longest time, we’ve been fed the overpopulation scare but today, we are seeing a worryingly rapid decline in fertility rates. If the trend continues, India risks becoming old before we become rich as a nation. Building Raaz is our small attempt at reversing that by helping couples have children through innovative reproductive health solutions while upholding individual choice," said Akash Kumar, Co- Founder & CEO of Raaz.
Scaling operations and future plans
With an aim to enrol 50,000 users by next year, Raaz App plans to partner with diagnostic providers to further develop treatment options and expand into the fertility space.
The fresh funding will also help strengthen the platform’s technology infrastructure and broaden its reach in both metro and non-metro regions.
Ankur Khaitan, Principal at Fireside Ventures, said, “Raaz is tackling one of the most underserved yet crucial aspects of healthcare in India—reproductive health. Their empathetic, evidence-based program and deep understanding of Bharat’s unique needs position them as true changemakers in the personalized healthcare space. We’re excited to support their journey as they work towards transforming millions of lives with efficacy and trust.”
