As India’s appetite for regional sports continues to grow, a new player is drawing the attention of mainstream media investors. Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd (HMVL), the publishing arm of the HT Group, has invested Rs 21.02 crore in Atlanture Sports, a sports startup co-founded by television personality Rannvijay Singha and entrepreneur Shubham Choudhary.
The deal, facilitated through HT AdVentures, the group’s investment arm, was initiated with a Rs 10.5 crore disbursement last week, with the remainder set to be deployed in stages.
With a growing presence in India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Atlanture Sports is focused on transforming the sports industry through innovation, strategic IP creation, and global execution. Best known for its flagship Real Kabaddi League (RKL), the startup also manages international leagues, large-scale events, and a network of multi-sport 'Pay & Play' arenas.
It offers 360° solutions across event production, league operations, athlete management, and sports consulting — along with certified courses to nurture future sports professionals.
Atlanture Sports said that the strategic investment from HMVL is a major boost for its flagship property, the Real Kabaddi League, which it says is rapidly emerging as one of India’s most exciting grassroots sports platforms. The funding will also support the startup's broader expansion strategy, including content innovation, international events, and deeper integration with youth and regional talent development.
The upcoming Season 4 of Real Kabaddi League is set to hold selection trials across 10+ Indian states, with plans to host an international edition in Dubai — a first for the league. With a growing fan base, celebrity engagement, and a strong regional presence, RKL aims to become a global ambassador for indigenous Indian sports.
“We are thrilled to welcome Hindustan Media Ventures as a strategic partner. This investment is a powerful endorsement of our long-term vision to build a modern sports ecosystem rooted in Indian identity. It will allow us to scale our operations, strengthen our media presence, and deliver global-standard experiences across all verticals,” Shubham Choudhary, CEO of Atlanture Sports.
“This partnership is more than financial — it's a shared belief in the untapped power of homegrown sports,” said Rannvijay Singha, who has used his celebrity following to bring visibility to the league. He said the alliance with HT Media will allow the company to extend Indian sporting formats to global audiences.
Anirudh Singhal, Head of HT AdVentures, commented: “Atlanture Sports combines sharp execution with a strong grassroots vision — making them a standout player in India’s evolving sports and entertainment space. We are excited to be part of their journey and believe they are well-positioned for accelerated growth.”
