Sedna HoReCa, a B2B platform targeting the hotel, restaurant, and catering (HoReCa) industry, has raised Rs 50 crore in equity funding from Anicut Capital, marking a significant bet on India's fragmented hospitality supply chain.
The capital infusion will fuel Sedna's ambition to build what it calls India's first integrated, technology-led solutions platform for the sector, with expansion plans spanning over 20 cities in the next year.
Who are the founders?
Founded by Mahadevan Narayanamoni and Saurabh Pandey—co-founders of Aknamed, a hospital supply chain startup acquired by PharmEasy in 2021—Sedna aims to bring coherence to an industry plagued by operational inefficiencies, rising procurement costs, and limited tech adoption.
The startup's offering is structured across three verticals: software-as-a-service (SaaS), commerce and distribution, and food solutions. The SaaS stack includes SupplyNote, an inventory management platform, and BillNote, a point-of-sale (POS) software designed for restaurants and cafés.
Both products were developed by AdCount Technologies, whose founding team—Kushang, Abhishek Kumar, Harshit Mittal, and Nitin Prakash—has joined Sedna to scale the tech and commerce engine. The commerce and logistics segment is anchored by Vyap, a supply distribution network, and SupplyLink, a third- and fourth-party logistics (3PL/4PL) service tailored for HoReCa enterprises.
These offerings are designed to address chronic inefficiencies in the supply chain, such as fluctuating fill rates, long lead times, and high levels of inventory loss.
Sedna is also entering the ready-to-cook and ready-to-serve food product space with a focus on serving commercial kitchens, food courts, D2C brands, and restaurant chains.
Chef Sanjaya Bhan, the founder of Hospitality Unlimited, has been brought in to lead product development. A new food production facility is being established in Bengaluru, with plans to scale Bhan’s existing operations as part of the expansion.
“With increasing technology adoption, emergence of national food brands, and a wave of innovation across retail formats, the timing is right to build a unified B2B solution tailored for HoReCa,” said co-founder Saurabh Pandey.
The integrated platform model is central to Sedna’s pitch: software to manage inventory and billing, logistics to streamline delivery, and food products to simplify sourcing—all under one roof.
“Sedna helps solve specific challenges that the HoReCa industry has been facing: escalating purchase costs, erratic fill rates, long lead times, and inventory loss due to pilferage,” said Dhruv Kapoor, Partner at Anicut Capital.
“We believe this end-to-end approach positions them well to become a category-defining company.”
Sedna’s entry comes at a time when India's hospitality and food services industry is undergoing rapid digital transformation, with an increasing number of cloud kitchens, D2C food brands, and chain restaurants looking to reduce costs and improve service consistency.
