Student accommodation platform EZStays raises Rs 8.5 crore from Finvolve, India Accelerator

Finvolve, a multi-stage VC fund, has invested in EZStays - a fast-growing, holistic student accommodation and experience ecosystem. The investment is part of a larger Rs 8.5 crore (~$1 million) round that also saw participation from other strategic investors. The structure includes a mix of primary and secondary transactions.

EZStays, which plans to leverage the recently raised funding to significantly expand its inventory of beds across existing and new territories, addresses the critical shortage of quality student housing in India by offering fully furnished, hassle-free living spaces designed to meet the modern student's needs.

Industry growth potential

The Indian student housing market is poised for rapid growth, with over 35 million students enrolled in higher education and an acute shortage of professionally managed accommodation. EZStays said it addresses this gap with a tech-enabled, service-first approach, ensuring a seamless experience for students and parents alike.

The startup also enhances the student experience through a comprehensive suite of value-added programs, including career development initiatives like EZ-Mentor and EZ-Connect, mentorship sessions, leadership talks, mock interviews, sports tournaments, and cultural events.
