SuperKalam, an AI-driven educational platform designed to provide personalized mentorship for students preparing for competitive exams, has raised $2 million or approximately Rs 16.3 crore in a seed funding round led by YCombinator and Fundersclub.

Other notable investors who participated include YC Partner Puneet Kumar, Goodwater Capital, Nurture Ventures, SuperCapital, and Pareto Ventures.

Aiming to revolutionize the traditional methods of education

Founded in July 2023 by Vimal Singh Rathore and Aseem Gupta, the startup seeks to revolutionize the traditional methods of education.

Unlike conventional edtech platforms that deliver the same content to all students, SuperKalam uses AI-driven analytics to tailor the learning experience to each student's unique needs.

This approach includes personalized learning paths, instant doubt resolution, and progress tracking, ensuring students receive the support they need when they need it.

Enhancing its AI-led educational platform

The startup plans to use the raised capital to enhance its AI-led educational platform. The primary goals include expanding the platform’s reach, improving user experience, and fostering continuous innovation in personalized learning services.

Additionally, The investment will support the development of more sophisticated AI analytics to better adapt to individual student needs and expand the platform’s capabilities to serve a larger number of students effectively.

SuperKalam claims that it currently serves over 60,000 students, providing them with tailored mentorship and support through its advanced AI technology.

Leadership comments

Vimal Singh Rathore, Co-founder and CEO of SuperKalam, expressed his excitement about the new funding, stating, “We are excited to have iconic investors join us in our mission to rethink learning in an AI-first world. At SuperKalam, we are committed to leading this change by transitioning from unilateral content broadcasts to delivering personalized learning that adapts to each student’s unique needs.”

This is the second edtech venture for Co-founder Vimal Singh Rathore, following Coursavy, which was acquired by Unacademy in September 2020.

“We are always on the lookout for ventures that can create significant value for customers. India’s edtech market is full of opportunity, and in SuperKalam, we see the potential for significant impact. We believe the founding team has strong experience in the market, and their product has tremendous potential," said Boris Silver, Founding Partner at Fundersclub.
