34 Malicious Apps Banned By Google From The Play Store

• In the last two months, Google removed 34 new malware-infected applications from the play store.
• Users are advised to uninstall all the malware-infected applications from their smartphones.

In the last two months between July and September, tech giant Google removed 34 malware-infected applications from the play store.

These 34 applications were infected by the Joker malware, also called Bread, known for conducting billing frauds by intercepting SMS to subscribe to unwanted paid services.

The Joker malware uses as little code as possible and thoroughly hides it to generate a very discreet footprint that becomes difficult for the developers to detect it.

Google has started taking action on these apps by removing all the malware-infected applications from the play store. Google has advised its users to immediately uninstall the malware-infected apps from their smartphones to prevent any attack.

“Many of these samples appear to be designed specifically to attempt to slip into the Play Store undetected and are not seen elsewhere,” Google wrote on their blog post.

Earlier in September 2020, Google removed 17 Joker malware-infected apps and continue to ban more malware-infected applications.
