Abu Dhabi-based AI investment firm 3AI Holding Limited and SML India have unveiled a new generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI) platform called Hanooman.
According to the company, Hanooman is designed to cater to a diverse user base and supports 98 global languages, including 12 Indian languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Sindhi.
Arjun Prasad, Managing Director of 3AI Holding, highlighted the platform’s inclusive goal, stating, "Through our strategic partnership with SML India, we strive to cater to a diverse spectrum of users, making AI inclusive and available to everyone, regardless of their ethnicity or location.”
Who developed Hanooman and what are its features?
Hanooman is a joint effort between SML India and 3AI Holding.
The platform excels in converting complex data into actionable intelligence, supporting tasks from casual conversations to professional advice, and is geared towards sectors like healthcare, governance, financial services, and education.
Aiming to reach 200 million Indians
The platform, which is available for download on Android via the Play Store, aims to reach of 200 million users within its first year. Interestingly, An iOS version is also on the horizon.

Strategic partnerships with companies
SML India has entered strategic collaborations with technology leaders such as HP, NASSCOM, and Yotta, with Yotta providing GPU cloud infrastructure to support operations.
Moreover, a partnership with the Government of Telangana and the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances facilitates seamless translation between English and Telugu, enhancing accessibility to essential services and documents.
Focused on differentiating
The company claims that Hanooman is India’s largest multilingual GenAI platform, specifically tailored for the Indian demographic and linguistic diversity.
Vishnu Vardhan remarked on its significance, "Hanooman signifies a revolutionary phase of AI innovation in India. Our goal is to touch the lives of 200 million users within the inaugural year alone.”
The platform's multilingual capabilities are particularly notable as they aim to democratize GenAI accessibility across India, a crucial development since about 80% of Indians do not use English.
Planning to introduce a premium subscription
Currently, Hanooman is freely accessible via web and Android applications, with plans to introduce a premium subscription model later this year.
The forthcoming iOS app will expand accessibility, ensuring that AI is not just a privilege for a few but a tool available to every Indian.
