Alternative debt provider Blacksoil enhances leadership team with 5 key appointments

BlackSoil, an alternative credit platform known for its investments in notable startups like ideaForge, Upstox, Bluestone, OYO, Udaan, Zetwerk, and Curefoods, has made a significant move to enhance its leadership team. 

The firm has announced the appointment of five senior vice presidents across various key functions, including investment, fundraising, and human resources. The development is aimed at propelling its growth and reinforcing its position in the alternative credit market.

The development comes almost two weeks after Blacksoil NBFC raised Rs 100 crore ($12 million) through a rights issue from its existing Indian investors and family offices.

Who are the new appointees?

The new appointments include Aditya Sarda and Vaibhav Nigam as the senior vice presidents of investments, who have extensive experience in investment and strategy from their previous roles at prestigious organizations.

Somaira Khan has been appointed as the senior vice president of human resources. She brings over 15 years of experience in HR from her tenures at notable firms, including Emirates National Bank of Dubai and Michael Page.

Prashant Pulipaka and Nikhil Hegde join as senior vice presidents of fundraising, each with a rich background in investor relations, fundraising, and business development.

New appointees experience

The firm believes that the new appointments is a strategic approach towards growth. Each individual brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in their respective domains. Aditya Sarda, with his 19 years of experience across investment and strategy, and Vaibhav Nigam, with 18 years of experience in senior positions at various financial institutions, are set to drive the investment vertical.

Somaira Khan's expertise in HR will be pivotal in aligning HR strategies with BlackSoil's business objectives. Prashant Pulipaka and Nikhil Hegde, with their extensive experience in fundraising and investor relations, are expected to significantly contribute to the company's fundraising efforts.
