Amazon India has launched Amazon Diagnostics, a new at-home testing service that offers lab sample collection in under 60 minutes and results in as little as six hours for routine tests.
The service, which is currently available in six cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai and Hyderabad, marks the e-commerce giant’s latest step in building a full-spectrum digital healthcare platform under its Amazon Medical umbrella.
The offering, developed in collaboration with diagnostics provider Orange Health Labs, spans more than 450 pin codes and includes access to over 800 diagnostic tests. The company said that customers can book appointments, track sample collection in real time, and receive secure digital reports through the Amazon app.
“Amazon Diagnostics represents a significant step forward in making healthcare more accessible, reliable and convenient for all our customers,” said Jayaramakrishnan Balasubramanian, Category Leader, Amazon Medical.
“By providing high-quality, doctor-verified lab testing seamlessly integrated into the Amazon app, we are empowering our customers with world class diagnostic facilities from the comfort of their home,” Balasubramanian added.
Amazon’s diagnostics initiative builds upon its previous forays into healthcare. In 2020, it introduced Amazon Pharmacy, which offers medicine delivery and free teleconsultations, even in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. In late 2024, Amazon Clinic was launched to provide virtual consultations for over 100 health conditions. The addition of diagnostics completes what Balasubramanian described as a “connected outpatient journey”—enabling users to move seamlessly from consultation to lab testing to medicine delivery within a single interface.
The company touts Amazon Diagnostics as a response to key gaps in India’s diagnostics landscape: long wait times, inconsistent quality of service, and limited accessibility. The platform introduces features such as real-time slot visibility, map-based address validation, secure report access through an Amazon Health dashboard, and automated preparation instructions.
Orange Health Labs brings its operational and clinical expertise to the partnership. “We’ve always admired Amazon’s innovation, customer obsession, and ability to transform lives at scale,” said Dhruv Gupta, co-founder of Orange Health. “Together with Amazon, we will continue to raise the bar for fast, reliable, and insightful diagnostics in India.”
Operational from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week, Amazon Diagnostics is initially launching in select areas but is expected to expand rapidly. The company did not disclose financial details of the venture or any investment committed towards the diagnostics expansion.
In addition to routine lab tests, Amazon Medical’s broader platform includes options like auto-refill for chronic medications, discounted subscriptions, and same-day delivery in 23 cities. Consultations on Amazon Clinic start at Rs 299, with specialties ranging from general medicine to dermatology and pediatrics, and include a free seven-day follow-up.
