Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu held discussions on Tuesday with YouTube CEO Neal Mohan and Google APAC Head Sanjay Gupta about establishing a YouTube Academy in Amaravati.

Other officials participating in the meeting included YouTube Vice President Leslie Miller, Google India MD for Government Affairs and Public Policy Sreenivasa Reddy, and Union Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu.

CM Naidu shares update on X

"We discussed setting up a YouTube Academy in Andhra Pradesh, in collaboration with local partners, to foster AI, content development, skill development and certification programmes. Furthermore, we explored avenues for providing technical support for the Media City initiative in our capital, Amaravati," the CM wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The proposed Academy aims to nurture talent in AI, content creation, and digital skills, while the Media City initiative is envisioned as a hub for media and entertainment industries.

Aiming to accelerate AP's technological advancement

The Andhra Pradesh government said that the virtual meeting was aimed to accelerate the state's technological advancement.

Notably, the discussions covered digital infrastructure enhancement, skill development, and leveraging technology for efficient governance, among other topics.

Both Google and Andhra Pradesh will soon sign an MoU under the initiative "AI for Andhra Pradesh, Powered by Google."

"This comprehensive partnership will encompass AI applications in agriculture, healthcare, and sustainability, as well as skill development, startup ecosystems, AI workforce cultivation, MSME support through digital credit and AI-driven governance,” the state government said following a virtual meet between Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Google and YouTube leadership.
