Arvind Krishna has been named as the new CEO of IBM an American Technology Giant after a "world-class succession process". He will succeed Virginia Rometty who described him as the "right CEO for the next era at IBM". She said that he is well-positioned to lead the company in the era of cloud and cognitive computing.

Krishna is currently 57 and had joined IBM in 1990 after his undergrad from IIT Kanpur and further completing his PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After taking the position of Chief Executive Officer in April this year Krishna will enter the club of Desi Domination of Big Tech companies.

Virginia Rometty describes Krishna as a superb operational leader, "able to win today while building the business of tomorrow". She said that Arvind has grown the Cloud and cognitive software business of the company into the next level. He led acquisition of RedHat which was $34 Billion considered to be company's biggest so far and profitable.

Alex Gorsky, Chairman of the Board's executive compensation and management resources committee said that he thinks and executes squarely at the intersection of business and technology. It is no doubt that he has an outstanding record of proven business results and is an authentic values-driven leader.
