Ashneer Grover launches new startup ZeroPe

BharatPe Co-founder and former Shark Tank India judge Ashneer Grover is making his return to the fintech sector with the launch of ZeroPe, a new app dedicated to providing medical loans.

Currently in its testing phase, ZeroPe emerges under the umbrella of Third Unicorn, a venture Grover initiated post his tenure at BharatPe.

After departing from BharatPe, Grover, along with his wife Madhuri Jain Grover and entrepreneur Aseem Ghavri, founded Third Unicorn in January 2023. The company first entered the competitive market with CrickPe, a fantasy gaming platform designed to rival giants like Dream11 and Mobile Premier League (MPL).

Following its debut, Third Unicorn secured a $3.5 million seed funding round.

What does ZeroPe do?

ZeroPe aims to address the urgent need for accessible medical financing by offering instant pre-approved loans up to Rs 5 lakhs. The service, in collaboration with Delhi-based NBFC Mukut Finvest, is available exclusively at partnered hospitals.

ZeroPe's initiative places it among a burgeoning list of businesses striving to simplify healthcare financing, including SaveIn, Qube Health, and Mykare Health, among others.

A growing digital healthcare market

India's digital healthcare landscape is poised for a significant transformation, with projections estimating a market potential of $37 billion by 2030.

Within this, healthcare financing is expected to contribute a substantial $5 billion. Startups like ZeroPe are at the forefront of leveraging data-driven solutions to integrate hospital networks, health insurance providers, and government healthcare schemes, aiming to offer comprehensive care management across various healthcare needs.
