Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, overseeing Communication, Railways, and Electronics & IT, has officially launched the 'NITI For States' platform with the aim of bolstering digital governance and informed decision-making.

The initiative by NITI Aayog aims to establish a robust Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for policy and good governance, marking a notable advancement in the realm of policy-making and administration.

Introducing the Viksit Bharat Strategy Room

Alongside the 'NITI For States' platform, the inauguration of the 'Viksit Bharat Strategy Room' at NITI Aayog was announced. This innovative space is designed to facilitate data-driven decision-making through dynamic visualization and engagement with insights and knowledge.

It promises to be an interactive environment where users can visualize data, trends, best practices, and policies in an immersive setting. Voice-enabled AI and video conferencing capabilities will enhance the quality of decision-making, as per the statement.

A Repository of Knowledge and Best Practices

The 'NITI For States' platform boasts an extensive repository, including 7,500 best practices, 5,000 policy documents, over 900 datasets, 1,400 data profiles, and 350 NITI publications.

The platform covers ten sectors, including agriculture, education, energy, health, and urban development. It also emphasizes cross-cutting themes like gender and climate change.

This comprehensive collection aims to equip government officials and functionaries at all levels with actionable insights and knowledge to improve governance quality.

Accessibility and user-friendly design

Designed with an intuitive and user-friendly interface, the platform ensures easy accessibility through various devices, including mobile phones.

Notably, the feature is pivotal in facilitating seamless navigation and engagement, thereby driving the digital transformation of governance across states and union territories. The platform is envisioned to support district collectors and block-level functionaries by providing access to innovative best practices, thereby fostering a culture of efficiency and innovation in governance.

Collaborative Effort and Integration

The initiative has seen collaboration from various government organizations, including the integration of iGOT Karmayogi's online training modules, National Data and Analytics Platform (NDAP), and support from the National E-Governance Division (NeGD), among others.
