Nalin Negi, CEO of BharatPe

BharatPe Group’s Resilient Payments Private Ltd. has received final authorization from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as an online payment aggregator, clearing the way for the fintech unicorn to bundle more digital services under the new brand BharatPe X.

With the license in hand, BharatPe becomes the country's only fintech that holds an NBFC permit through Trillion Loans, a significant stake in Unity Small Finance Bank and now the right to act as a payment aggregator.

Nalin Negi, CEO of BharatPe, said, “We deeply value the trust placed in us by the regulatory authorities. This final authorisation is not just a milestone, but a responsibility we take seriously. It speaks to the strength of the governance practices and operational frameworks we’ve put in place over the years. As we move ahead, our focus remains on scaling digital payments in a way that is sustainable, responsible, and aligned with the evolving expectations of the ecosystem.”

BharatPe X to target smaller cities

Chief Executive of Resilient Payments Sandeep Indurkar said the company will use BharatPe X to deepen its reach in tier‑2 and tier‑3 towns, build out technology that can handle fast‑growing sectors and give merchants more ways to accept and manage money online.

"We’re looking to broaden our footprint across high-potential markets, enhance our product suite, and bring more innovation to how businesses accept and manage digital payments. The focus now is on execution—building with intent, speed, and reliability," Indurkar added.

BharatPe's market presence

BharatPe's platform links payments, credit and investments for more than 1.3 crore merchants in more than 450 cities.

The fintech unicorn processes about 450 million UPI transactions every month, while its point‑of‑sale terminals handle roughly Rs 29,000 crore in annual transactions. Through partnerships with non‑bank lenders, its BharatPe Money arm has arranged loans worth more than Rs 18,000 crore.
