The Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has drawn millions of pilgrims and tourists from around the world for its 45-day spiritual gathering. With the event scheduled to continue until Feb. 26, visitors are making their way to the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati rivers.

In the midst of this bustling crowd, Zomato-owned quick commerce company Blinkit has opened a temporary store at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj to cater to the needs of pilgrims and tourists attending the event.

CEO Albinder Dhindsa shared the news on X (formerly Twitter). He said the 100-square-foot store will deliver to Arail Tent City, Dome City, ITDC Luxury Camp, Devrakh, and other key areas of the Maha Kumbh Mela.

It's worth noting that the company will deliver a specially curated assortment like pooja needs, milk, curd, fruits & vegetables (for self-consumption as well as for daan), chargers, power banks, towels, blankets, bedsheets and more.

Social media users have enthusiastically welcomed the move, with many praising Blinkit for recognizing the importance of convenience during the event.

Some attendees noted how this service introduces the quick-commerce brand to a broader audience, while others hoped the initiative would proceed smoothly throughout the gathering. 

"What a thoughtful initiative! Pilgrims now have one less thing to worry about with Blinkit delivering all the essentials, right where they need it," a user wrote. 

"I was there on the 12th and literally searched on Blinkit to see if it's available there. Crazy stuff you guys have been doing," another said.
