Bounce Infinity launches portable liquid-cooled battery for e-scooters in collaboration with Clean Electric

Bounce Infinity has introduced India’s first portable liquid-cooled battery for electric scooters, marking a pivotal advancement in the EV sector. 

Developed in collaboration with Clean Electric, The startup said the technology sets a new benchmark in electric vehicle performance, offering extended range, rapid charging capabilities, and an enhanced battery lifespan.

The innovation is encapsulated in the Bounce Infinity E1 model, which now boasts a real-world range of over 100 kilometres and prices starting at Rs 99,210.

Redefining charging convenience

The novel battery technology eliminates the need for fixed charging points by enabling fast charging capabilities—up to 80% in just under 50 minutes—using portable chargers compatible with standard household sockets.

Enhanced performance and safety

The liquid-cooled battery stands out with its 2.5 KWh energy capacity, delivering an impressive range of 112-120km on a single charge. It employs a fire-retardant liquid for heat absorption, reducing the risk of overheating—a common issue in high-performance EVs.

This technology also ensures an unparalleled safety level with a 5-layer safety stack, including cell and pack level fusing, active cooling, software safety protections, and a master-slave BMS architecture for redundancy, promising a safer riding experience.

Sustainability and future prospects

With a focus on sustainability, the liquid-cooled battery components are recyclable, aligning with global environmental standards.

Bounce Infinity and Clean Electric are also developing the Long Range e1++ model to double the range with a secondary battery and compatibility with universal Type 6 Public DC charging standards, expected to be unveiled within the year.

Since its launch in 2021, Bounce Infinity has sold more than 10,000 scooters, establishing a significant presence across major metros and rural markets in India.

The introduction of portable liquid-cooled battery technology not only caters to the critical need for more efficient thermal management in EVs but also promises to significantly boost EV adoption by enhancing the user experience with its fast charging, affordability, and extended battery life, which retains 85-90% of its capacity even after 5 years.
