Electric scooter maker Bounce Infinity has partnered with SUN Mobility, a leader in battery swapping and energy infrastructure.
Vivekananda Hallekere, CEO of Bounce Infinity, said, “Our collaboration with SUN Mobility is a crucial step in our mission to revolutionise urban mobility. By eliminating charging hassles with instant battery swaps, we’re making clean commutes not just accessible but affordable for people.”
Strategic deployment in major cities
As part of the partnership, SUN Mobility will deploy 30,000 Bounce Infinity scooters in key markets across the country, starting with Bangalore and Hyderabad and then extending to Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi NCR.
The strategic move taps into the growing demand for eco-friendly transportation solutions in India's bustling urban centres. SUN Mobility, which has a robust network of over 600 swap stations across 19 cities, facilitates over one million swaps and 30 million km every month.
Tailored features for urban commuting
The Infinity E1 scooter by Bounce Infinity is specially designed for urban commuting. The scooter is integrated with SUN Mobility's swappable battery system and has a range of over 95 km per swap.
Models of service: BaaS and MaaS
The partnership will enable the deployment of e-scooters under two innovative models: Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS). According to the company's statement, these two models aim to provide flexibility and convenience to customers, including third-party fleets, who will power their scooters through SUN Mobility’s extensive battery-swapping network.
Eco-friendly solution
Both Bounce Infinity and SUN Mobility also plan to launch this eco-friendly solution in export markets as well.
Anant Badjatya, CEO, SUN Mobility, said, “As we embark on this groundbreaking collaboration with Bounce Infinity, we are not just powering e-2Wheelers, we are igniting a revolution in urban mobility. By integrating Bounce Infinity’s innovative scooters into our expansive battery swapping network, we’re not just changing the way people commute; we’re shaping the future of sustainable, efficient transport. We’re thrilled about the potential of this collaboration to redefine EV adoption, not just in India but on a global scale.”
