Uniphore, the conversational automation and business AI company, said it has acquired Orby AI and intends to acquire Autonom8, two startups that it says will expand the scope of its Business AI Cloud.
The acquisitions bring to Uniphore a cadre of engineers and researchers with experience at DeepMind and Google, underscoring the intensifying race for AI talent as companies look to move beyond chat interfaces toward enterprise-grade automation.
Orby specialises in large action models, neuro-symbolic reasoning, and agentic process discovery, while Autonom8 has built tools for multi-agent workflows designed to help businesses operationalize advanced AI.
Together, Uniphore said, the additions will enable it to tackle workflows that require “reasoning, judgment, and precision,” capabilities that many generative AI systems still struggle with.
“The world’s largest companies trust Uniphore to deliver innovation at the speed of AI,” said Umesh Sachdev, CEO and Co-founder of Uniphore.
“Our customers are betting their business models on Al-enabled transformation, with Business Al Cloud at the core. With the addition of Orby and Autonom8, Uniphore will welcome world-class research and engineering talent and breakthrough AI capabilities that elevate our ability to orchestrate complex workflows. We’re ready to rapidly integrate these teams into Uniphore and deliver new innovations to our customers without delay.”
Uniphore has been expanding through acquisitions in recent months. In December, it bought two data companies, ActionIQ and Infoworks, moves that broadened its data and analytics stack.
The company, which has raised $610 million to date, was last valued at $2.5 billion following a $400 million round in February 2022.
The company said it plans to launch early access programs later this year for select customers that want to test the new technology. Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
