Indian educational tech startup Byju's and Vedantu are in the Google Play's top 10 list of the most downloaded educational applications in the platform.
Currently, Vedantu and Byju's ranked no. 2 and 8 respectively on Google Play store top-grossing list under the educational apps category. While Tips For File Transfer is ranked no. 1 on the list.
Furthermore, Both edtech startup Vedantu and Byju's are Bengaluru based startup.
Tiger Global backed startup Vedantu was founded in 2011 by four fellow IITians Vamsi Krishna, Saurabh Saxena, Pulkit Jain, and Anand Prakash. The app is having more than 10m+ downloads in Play store with 1m+ live learning hours & 2.2m+ enrolled students from 20+ different countries. Currently, Vedantu is valued at $600 million after raising funds from Caotue.
Byju's was also founded in 2011 by Byju Raveendran. Byju's is currently having more than 50m+ downloads in play store with over 42m+ enrolled students around the globe. According to the reports, Byju's is currently valued at $10.5 billion after raising funds from BOND.

Moreover, Both of these startups majorly focuses on providing online classes for school students, competitive exam preparation, and had also entered in providing online coding classes.
These educational apps witnessed a huge surge in their app downloads during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the reports, Google Classroom is the most downloaded app in the education category, after July, with more than 15m+ downloads.
Currently, Byju's is the most valued Indian edtech startup following Vedantu is in the second position with $600 million market valuation.
