After laying off thousands of employees, Troubled edtech giant Byju's has reportedly begun vacating its largest office space in Bengaluru.
According to a Moneycontrol report, The edtech startup is giving up the 5.58 lakh square feet property in Kalyani Tech Park to save costs and shore up liquidity amid delayed funding.
Following this, the company has asked its employees to work from other offices or homes from July 23 onwards.
The report further added that Byju's has surrendered two out of the nine floors it previously occupied in Prestige Tech Park. It's anticipated that employees from Kalyani Tech Park in the Brookfield area may begin working from Prestige Tech Park and the company's main office on Bannerghatta Main Road.
The report also mentions statements from security staff at the Kalyani Tech Park office, indicating that Byju's has vacated most of its spaces there, with the rest expected to be relinquished by August. This decision to give up significant office spaces might be an important part of Byju's cost-cutting restructuring plans in response to considerable financial strain.
