Pramod Rao and Abhishek Nalin co-founded Threado in 2020. Threado provides an actionable dashboard to businesses and creators that manage their online communities on platforms such as Slack, Discord, Discourse, Twitter, and GitHub.

Following this fundraise, the startup says it will focus on strengthening its team, doubling down on the product, and accelerating traction in the North American market.

The startup also said that its products are used by over 200 communities such as On Deck, Glide Apps, StartUp Grind, Ultrahuman, Appsmith, Rocketlane, Scaler Academy, and FamPay, among others. It is also planning to increase its customer base to 3,000 community-led companies in the next 12 months.

“Everything we do is focused on empowering community builders. Our ambition is to define and shape this category over the coming years. We are on a mission to help every business grow through the power of community and want to power community-led growth for 10 million businesses by 2030,” said Pramod Rao.

Speaking on the investment, Piyush Kharbanda, General Partner at Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, said, “The role of a community has changed in today’s world and will have an impact on how organisations scale and sustain themselves. Companies embracing communities as a core way of engaging with current and potential customers, and the execution capability of the team, drove our investment in Threado."
