CpaaS startup CometChat raises $10M in a Series A round

Denver-based CpaaS startup CometChat today said it has raised $10 million in an oversubscribed Series A funding round led by Signal Peak Ventures, included participation from existing investors Matchstick Ventures, Range Ventures, Unbound VC, among others.

Founded in 2010 by siblings Anuj Garg and Anant Garg, CometChat has built a communications platform for enterprises that provides them with plug n play text, chat, video, and voice communications solutions to be integrated in their websites and apps.

The startup, which has headquarters in India and the US, works with global names like HeySummit, Swedbank, and Endeavour.

According to a statement, CometChat will use the raised funding to further enable growth acceleration along with platform enhancements.


The startup also plans to invest in expanding its global market share by investing in employee growth, accelerating go-to-market strategies, scaling platform infrastructure, and other platform features.

In addition to this, The startup has been actively investing in expansion and preparing for growth with numerous initiatives including the addition of former SendGrid marketing executive, Dan Mitzner, as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer.

Along with recent investment in Marketing, CometChat has enhanced the stability and scalability of the platform, ensuring customers can confidently deliver a rich user experience, the statement added.

Speaking on the development, Anuj Garg, Co-founder CEO, CometChat, said:
