The Czech Republic-based app, already popular in the UK, Poland, the US and other countries, uses voice and speech recognition technology to trigger sounds and music as stories are read aloud. For instance, when a parent reads The Three Little Pigs and reaches the part where the wolf knocks, the app plays the sound of knocking, making storytelling more interactive and immersive.

For Indian users, Readmio is offering stories from the Panchatantra, Akbar-Birbal tales, and regional classics, alongside fairy tales, bedtime stories, and moral tales from around the world.

Jozef Šimko, CEO of Readmio, says: “We are excited to bring Readmio to India, a country with one of the richest storytelling traditions in the world. Our vision is simple yet powerful: to ensure every child hears a fairy tale every day nurturing a sense of safety, imagination, and intelligence. Alongside global stories, we are proud to bring Indian folkore into the Readmio experience, making these timeless tales accessible to families everywhere."

The app has paying customers in 135 countries and has logged nearly 10 million story listens, with its strongest markets in Czechia, the U.S., Brazil, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Mexico, Chile, the UK, Austria, Spain and India.

Readmio follows a freemium model, offering one free story daily. The app is available for download on Google Play and the App Store.
