Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has publicly invited former employees to return to the company, saying the door remains open for those who once worked at the food delivery platform and its broader group.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Goyal said the message was meant for anyone who had previously worked at Zomato, whether they left voluntarily or were asked to move on. He acknowledged that, for many employees, Zomato may not have offered the right environment or leadership at the time, but said many still loved working at the company and may not have felt “at home” elsewhere since leaving.
Goyal said more than 400 people are currently working at Eternal in their second or third stints, adding that many are now doing their best work as both the individuals and the organisation have matured. He said the group has become more organised, even if it remains “a little less chaotic,” and added that he, too, has learned along the way.
“We have over four hundred people at Eternal today in their second or third stints. Many of them are doing their best work now. Maybe because they've grown, but also because the company has grown. We are more organised, a little less chaotic, and hopefully, I've learned a few things along the way too,” he wrote.
Addressing former employees who may have hesitated to reach out, Goyal said the door is not closed and that he is not holding on to the past.
“If you haven't reached out because you think the door is closed, or because you think I'm holding onto the past, I'm not. I want you back,” Goyal noted.
Eternal now operates a portfolio of businesses including Zomato, Blinkit Quick-Commerce, Blinkit Ambulances, District, Hyperpure, Nugget, and Feeding India. Goyal said the group needs people who understand what “good” looks like within the organisation and are willing to fight for it.
Responding to concerns that Eternal may not feel the same since he is no longer the CEO, Goyal said titles never mattered much at the company and added that he remains deeply involved.
“You might say that Eternal is not going to be the same, because I am not the CEO anymore. But ask yourself a question. Did titles ever matter at Eternal? I am still very much here, and I'd love for you to be a part of this next phase of Eternal,” he said.
Goyal encouraged former employees who feel they have “unfinished business” to write to him directly, offering to discuss roles that fit their current stage of life.
“The Gurgaon pollution is still a bug,” he wrote, “but being at Eternal is the feature.”
If you used to work at Zomato, whether you chose to move on, or I was the one who asked you to leave, this is for you.

I know that for many of you, Zomato didn't have the environment, or the leadership you needed at the time. But I know for sure, that you loved being at Zomato,…
