The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kyndryl Solutions Pvt. Ltd. to boost innovation in the Indian startup landscape.
The partnership aims to strengthen the country's manufacturing and IT ecosystems by offering mentorship, technological support, and access to large-scale enterprise solutions.
It also aims to encourage the adoption of digital transformation and Generative AI (GenAI) among startups looking to expand across industries.
A focus on manufacturing and IT
Under the agreement, DPIIT and Kyndryl will work together to help startups develop cutting-edge solutions in areas including automotive, pharmaceuticals, banking and financial services, oil and gas, and government services.
With this, they aim to make these startups more competitive by integrating their innovations into enterprise systems and guiding them on everything from product development and market readiness to cybersecurity resilience and international expansion.
Mentorship and enterprise support
Kyndryl plans to create special programs for digital product startups and AI-driven innovators, ensuring they get the guidance and resources they need to succeed.
Startups will also receive one-on-one mentorship on building products that can be deployed at an enterprise level, allowing them to reach large business customers more easily, the release notes.
Kyndryl will hold advisory sessions and industry workshops to further improve customer experience and operational efficiency, with DPIIT and Startup India also pitching in to provide policy insights and help with government incentives.
An innovation-driven initiative
Joint Secretary at DPIIT, Shri Sanjiv, called this partnership a major step toward creating an innovation-driven startup ecosystem in the country. He said the agreement leverages Kyndryl's global expertise in digital transformation to speed up growth for India’s startups, especially those focusing on Generative AI solutions.
The MoU was signed by the Director at DPIIT, Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, and a representative from Kyndryl in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.
