The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT ), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has entered into a landmark partnership with the Startup Policy Forum (SPF), an industry organization representing India’s leading new-age companies.
The agreement underscores the government’s commitment to foster innovation, strengthen the country’s entrepreneurial landscape, and position India as a global startup powerhouse.
SPF Baithak set for National Startup Week
A key highlight of this collaboration will be the SPF Baithak, scheduled for Jan. 15-16, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam. The event is part of the National Startup Week celebrations and will bring together policymakers and startup founders to explore new initiatives, showcase innovations, and announce strategic plans. This gathering seeks to build momentum toward realizing India’s broader vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Speaking on the partnership, Sanjiv, joint secretary of Startup India, noted that the Startup Policy Forum’s alliance with DPIIT marks a significant step in building a nurturing environment for entrepreneurs.
He said the SPF members embody the essence of India’s entrepreneurial drive, making them key players in guiding the nation toward a future defined by robust economic growth and technological advancement.
Programs and global investor engagement
Alongside the SPF Baithak, the collaboration includes specialized immersive programs aimed at connecting global investors with Indian startups. These initiatives will provide firsthand insight into India’s thriving innovation scene, create opportunities for international partnerships, and highlight the cutting-edge solutions emerging from local founders.
