IZI, the India-based dronetech startup building consumer and industrial drone platforms, today announced the commissioning of a dedicated drone manufacturing unit in Madhya Pradesh to support the next phase of its scale-up journey.
The facility represents an initial investment of Rs 50 crore, with manufacturing infrastructure designed to support phased expansion over the coming years.
The company said that major assembly lines are operational and capable of producing up to 3,000 units per month, aligning with its transition from consumer technology products to high-utility, India-built drone platforms for industrial and global markets.
In Phase 1, the facility is expected to deliver an annual output of 10,000 consumer drones and 1,000 industrial drones. Currently spanning 5,000 sq. ft., the unit is operating on self-funded capital, with expansion plans aligned to anticipated central and state-level manufacturing incentives.
The facility is projected to generate 150–200 direct and indirect jobs in Phase 1, with employment expected to grow as manufacturing capacity scales over subsequent phases.
IZI’s hiring focus includes engineering, manufacturing operations, quality, and product development roles based in Madhya Pradesh.
“This facility represents a clear inflection point for us—from early-stage assembly to engineering and manufacturing globally competitive drone platforms in India , ” said Ishan Haydn, Founder of IZI.
“Today, domestic manufacturing is about speed, quality, and resilience, not just cost efficiency. Madhya Pradesh offers the right ecosystem to build at scale while staying aligned with India’s broader drone manufacturing vision. As we expand beyond consumer technology into industrial and global markets, our focus is on setting new benchmarks with drones built in India.”
IZI plans to expand operations onto a larger manufacturing site to support advanced testing, composite material integration, and deeper electronics manufacturing, enabling tighter quality control, faster iteration cycles, and greater supply-chain independence.
The manufacturing unit has been designed to meet regulatory and export requirements from the outset, aligning with DGCA and BIS safety and product norms. IZI plans to serve domestic demand initially, with exports to select international markets expected to commence from mid-2026.
