DTDC Express said its Thane hub, spanning 7,500 square feet, will play a key role in daily operations, handling more than 100 tons of inbound and outbound parcels each month. The facility offers a unique opportunity for female employees, as they will manage approximately 30% of the shipments monthly, each weighing over 3 kg.

The introduction of an all-women team at the hub marks a significant step in transforming the logistics sector, fostering an environment where women are not just participants but also leaders in shaping the industry's future, the company said.

Leadership comments

Abhishek Chakraborty, CEO - DTDC Express Ltd. said, "We are excited to announce the launch of our third all-women-operated branch at Thane, a pivotal step toward empowering women in our industry. As we continue to champion diversity, it’s clear that the logistics sector thrives when diverse perspectives are at the forefront. With women now representing 41% of the workforce, the tide is shifting, and we are seeing a powerful trend of women stepping into leadership roles, as highlighted by ‘Gartner’s eighth annual Women in Supply Chain Survey 2024’.

"This initiative by DTDC is not just about representation; it’s a strategic move to break down barriers and create an inclusive, forward-thinking workplace. Women bring unique insights, innovation, and exceptional talent to our sector, and their contributions are integral to our success.
