Bhavish Aggarwal-led EV giant Ola Electric recently introduced its third-generation S1 scooter lineup, unveiling a wide range of models priced from Rs 79,999 up to Rs 1,69,999.
This Gen 3 platform represents a comprehensive upgrade over the previous generation, showcasing enhancements in performance, safety, efficiency, and overall engineering.
Ola's new flagship scooter
Ola’s new flagship is the S1 Pro+ (5.3kWh), featuring the 4680 Bharat Cell. With an introductory price of Rs 1,69,999, it can reach a top speed of 141 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.1 seconds. A second S1 Pro+ variant with a 4kWh battery, priced at Rs 1,54,999, tops out at 128 km/h.
Both versions offer a choice of four riding modes—Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco—and come equipped with Ola’s category-first dual ABS, new brake-by-wire technology, and front-and-rear disc brakes.
The 5.3kWh model promises an IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 320 km, while the 4kWh version can deliver up to 242 km. Alongside these features are design touches like body-colored mirrors, a two-tone seat with enhanced foam support, a die-cast aluminum grab handle, rim decals, and an expanded color palette that includes Passion Red, Porcelain White, Industrial Silver, Jet Black, Stellar Blue, and Midnight Blue.
S1 Pro in 4kWh and 3kWh
Further down the portfolio, Ola has introduced the S1 Pro in 4kWh and 3kWh options, priced at Rs 1,34,999 and Rs 1,14,999, respectively.
Both variants use an 11kW mid-drive motor, offering top speeds of 125 km/h (4kWh) and 117 km/h (3kWh). They accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in about 2.7 seconds and deliver a range of 242 km (4kWh) and 176 km (3kWh).
Available in Porcelain White, Industrial Silver, Jet Black, Stellar Blue, and Midnight Blue, these scooters feature single ABS, dual disc brakes, and four ride modes.
S1 X+
For customers seeking an optimal balance of performance and affordability, the company launched S1 X+ (priced at Rs 1,07,999). It uses an 11kW mid-drive motor and a 4kWh battery to reach a top speed of 125 km/h, with an acceleration time of 2.7 seconds from 0 to 40 km/h and an IDC range of 242 km.
The S1 X+ provides four riding modes, single ABS, a 4.3-inch color-segmented display, disc brake in the front, and sporty body decals. It comes in Porcelain White, Industrial Silver, Jet Black, Midnight Blue, and Passion Red.
In the entry-level S1 X range, Ola offers 2kWh, 3kWh, and 4kWh battery options starting at Rs 79,999, Rs 89,999, and Rs 99,999, respectively. Each variant adopts a 7kW motor, with the top speeds ranging from 101 km/h for the 2kWh to 123 km/h for the 4kWh version.
All three variants, according to the company, can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h between 3.0 and 3.4 seconds, and their IDC ranges span 108 km (2kWh) to 242 km (4kWh). They share the 4.3-inch color-segmented display, improved seat foam, sporty body decals, and four riding modes.
Company to continue its focus on Gen 2 scooters
Ola has also confirmed it will continue to retail its Gen 2 scooters at discounted rates of up to Rs 35,000. That means the S1 Pro and S1 X models (2kWh, 3kWh, 4kWh) will be available starting at Rs 1,14,999, Rs 69,999, Rs 79,999, and Rs 89,999, respectively, even as the Gen 3 models roll out.
The company says the Gen 3 scooters deliver roughly 20% higher peak power, 20% improved range, and an 11% cost reduction compared to the previous generation. A new brake-by-wire system dynamically shifts between regenerative and mechanical braking based on sensor data, enhancing safety, control, and energy recovery by up to 15%.
Leadership comments
According to Ola Chairman and Managing Director Bhavish Aggarwal, the improvements in the Gen 3 lineup reflect the company’s ambition to continually redefine the electric two-wheeler space.
“With our first generation of scooters we kickstarted the EV revolution in the country. With Gen 2, we made them smarter and more accessible. Today, with Gen 3, we are taking the EV two-wheeler industry to the ‘next level,’ bringing unmatched performance and reinventing the benchmarks we set for ourselves and the entire industry,” he said.
Launching MoveOS beta
In terms of software, Ola Electric announced that it will roll out MoveOS 5 beta starting mid-February, introducing features like Smartwatch App integration, Smart Park, Bharat Mood, Road Trip Mode powered by Ola Maps, Live Location Sharing, and Emergency SOS.
The new Gen 3 scooters come with a standard warranty of three years or 40,000 km for both the vehicle and the battery, and customers can opt for an extended battery warranty of up to eight years or 1,25,000 km for Rs 14,999.

The Roadster series starts at Rs 74,999 and goes up to Rs 1,99,999, offering what Ola calls segment-first technology and performance features for the motorcycle category.
The deliveries for the Gig and S1 Z scooters are slated for April and May of 2025, respectively.
