Fintech firm BharatPe appoints Pankaj Goel as its new Chief Technology Officer

Goel, previously serving as the Head of Payments Engineering at Razorpay, steps into this role seven months after the departure of the former CTO, Vijay Aggarwal, in November 2022.

Fintech firm BharatPe has onboarded Pankaj Goel as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Goel, previously serving as the Head of Payments Engineering at Razorpay, steps into this role seven months after the departure of the former CTO, Vijay Aggarwal, in November 2022.

Prior to his tenure at Razorpay, Goel held positions at software company Intuit for a decade, as well as roles at Trilogy and Sun Microsystems. At BharatPe, Goel will be under the supervision of Nalin Negi, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and interim CEO, and will manage the technology team in the company.

This appointment is part of BharatPe's broader leadership restructuring, which began in 2023 following a series of executive departures in the preceding year. This includes the exits of co-founders Satyam Nathani and Bhavik Koladiya, alongside Suhail Sameer (CEO), Nishit Sharma (CRO), Geetanshu Singla (VP, Technology), Nehul Malhotra (PostPe head), and Rajat Jain (CPO, lending and consumer products).

Since then, The fintech firm has been focusing on strengthening its leadership with new appointments, such as Sandeep Indurkar, a former ICICI Bank veteran, as Chief Business Officer-Banking and Alliances; Aparna Kuppuswamy as Chief Risk Officer; and Kohinoor Biswas as Head of Consumer Lending business. As part of the search for a new CEO, BharatPe also brought on Rahul Bhatia, a risk and compliance expert, as Head of Internal Audit and Ravinder Oberoi, a veteran of the banking industry, as Head of Compliance, in January.
