Paytm launches 'Health Saathi Plan'

Vijay Shekhar Sharma-led fintech company Paytm has launched 'Paytm Health Saathi', an exclusive health and income protection plan for its merchant partners.

The company said the plan is available on the 'Paytm for Business' app and is part of Paytm's ongoing efforts to support its vast network of merchants by providing them with affordable and comprehensive healthcare benefits.

Paytm Health Saathi offers a range of services, including unlimited doctor teleconsultation, in-person doctor visits (OPD) within its partner network, and income protection coverage.

Why did Paytm launch this plan?

The primary aim of the Paytm Health Saathi plan is to safeguard the well-being of merchants and ensure business continuity.

By introducing this plan, Paytm aims to empower its merchant partners by providing them with access to affordable healthcare and protection against income loss due to unforeseen events like accidents, natural calamities, or strikes.

"The launch of Paytm Health Saathi underscores our steadfast commitment to ensuring the welfare of our merchant partners. This initiative is part of our mission to equip them with comprehensive and affordable coverage that supports their continued operations. By offering tailored solutions, aligned to their needs, we aim to strengthen the robust support system we provide to our community of business owners," said a Paytm spokesperson.

What services does the plan include?

The plan starts at Rs 35 per month. It offers unlimited doctor teleconsultation services powered by MediBuddy, in-person doctor visits within its partner network, and additional benefits such as discounts at leading pharmacies and on diagnostic tests.

It also includes income protection cover in the event of business interruptions due to accidents, natural disasters like floods and fires, or strikes.

The claim process is designed to be straightforward and can be completed with just a few clicks within the app, ensuring that merchants can focus on their business without worry.

The pilot for 'Paytm Health Saathi' started in May and saw over 3,000 merchant partners avail of the plan. Following its initial success, Paytm rolled out this feature to all its merchants earlier this month.
