The strategic appointment is complemented by the addition of Harvinder Singh Chadha, who joins Zaak ePayment Services Private Limited (Zaakpay), a wholly-owned subsidiary of MobiKwik, as Vice President.
The development comes at a time when the digital payments landscape in India is experiencing a remarkable surge in adoption.
Mohit Narain's new role
Mohit Narain, who has been a part of the MobiKwik team for over five years, previously serving as an Operational Excellence Coach, steps into his new role with a wealth of experience.
As COO - Consumer Payments, Narain is tasked with overseeing operational efficiencies across a broad spectrum of payment services, including UPI, MobiKwik Wallet, Offline QR, and devices such as Soundbox and POS terminals. His role is pivotal in driving overall organizational growth through process implementation, resource, and cost optimization.
Harvinder Singh Chadha's expertise and goals
Harvinder Singh Chadha, who has over 20 years of experience in the banking and fintech sectors, including significant roles at Standard Chartered Bank, YES Bank, and HSBC, brings his expertise to Zaakpay.
In his new capacity, Chadha is focused on leading the payment gateway business, driving online merchant acquisition for both small and medium businesses (SMBs) and enterprises, establishing banking partnerships, and assembling teams to facilitate scalable and sustainable growth.
Zaakpay's regulatory milestone
Zaakpay, under the leadership of Chadha, has achieved a significant regulatory milestone by receiving in-principle approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as a payment aggregator.
The authorization is a testament to MobiKwik's commitment to compliance and innovation, enabling Zaakpay to onboard new merchants onto its platform for quick and easy processing of online payments.
