FirstCry reports Rs 50.5 crore net loss in Q2 FY26; revenue jumps to Rs 2,100 crore

FirstCry narrowed its quarterly loss in the September period as the omnichannel kidswear retailer continued to grow its revenue base while keeping a tighter control on costs.

The company reported a net loss of Rs 50.5 crore in Q2 FY26, a 20 percent improvement from Rs 62.9 crore a year earlier. On a sequential basis, the loss reduced 24% from Rs 66.5 crore.

Revenue from operations rose 10% year on year to Rs 2,099.1 crore, supported by steady demand in both online and offline channels. Including other income of Rs 38.2 crore, total income for the quarter stood at Rs 2,137.3 crore. Total expenses increased 10% to Rs 2,036.9 crore.

The company’s adjusted EBITDA grew 51% year on year to Rs 120.8 crore. FirstCry’s GMV expanded 11% to Rs 2,819.2 crore, driven by a similar rise in its unique transacting customer base, which reached about 1.1 crore during the quarter.

Brainbees Solutions, the parent company of FirstCry, said that 77% of its operating revenue for the quarter came from the sale of products through its India and international channels. GlobalBees, its roll-up brand subsidiary, contributed Rs 493 crore.

Procurement costs continued to account for the largest share of spending at 61 percent of the total, rising 11 percent year on year to Rs 1,329 crore. Employee benefits rose to Rs 203 crore, which included Rs 59 crore of ESOP expenses. Marketing, rent, technology and legal costs pushed total expenditure to Rs 2,175 crore.

In its India multi-channel business, revenue increased 8% year on year to Rs 1,381.1 crore. Profit for the segment improved 26% to Rs 58.2 crore. Orders served grew 11% to more than 1 crore, while annual transacting customers rose 11%.

The international business posted revenue of Rs 235.7 crore, up 13%  from last year. Its loss narrowed to Rs 24.4 crore, falling 44% year on year. Customer and order volumes remained steady at about five lakh. The company also opened its first company owned and company operated store in Saudi Arabia during the quarter.

GlobalBees reported a 14% rise in revenue to Rs 492.9 crore, while reducing its loss by 33% to Rs 10.7 crore. 

For the first half of FY26, FirstCry reduced its loss to Rs 117 crore from Rs 138 crore in the same period last year. The company also posted a positive EBITDA of Rs 111 crore for the six-month period.
