Ecommerce giant Flipkart, which has been offering flight booking service, is now venturing into hotel booking through its new feature 'Flipkart Hotels' that will allow customers to book hotel rooms across 3 lakh domestic and international hotels.
With this, the e-commerce company aims to offer its customers various affordable benefits, including flexible travel and booking-related policies, easy EMI options to make travel affordable, and budget-friendly options, among others.
The newly launched feature, backed by Cleartrip's API, will benefit Flipkart hotels from Cleartrip's deep understanding of travel customers and sectors. To make booking hassle-free for customers, the company has integrated the feature into its online shopping app, which enables users to avail third-party offers on the platform.
Last year in April, Flipkart acquired Cleartrip's online business to bolster its travel offerings to its customers. So far, the platform has been offering a Flight booking facility to its customers.
"Flipkart Flight is on a steady path of growth in the travel industry since we entered this space. With Flipkart Hotels, we are strengthening our commitment to provide a better experience and superior service to our customers across metros and beyond tiers. With our banking partner’s financial offerings, the customers will unlock great value in this segment and enhance Flipkart’s capabilities as a preferred one-stop shop for the travel booking needs of Indian customers," said Adarsh Menon, Senior Vice President at Flipkart.
The company said it has set up a dedicated customer care center to support customers with user-related queries arising from the hotel booking service.
