Footprints Preschool & Daycare, an early childhood education and daycare chain, has raised $7.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Tanglin Venture Partners.
The startup will use the raised capital to scale its nationwide footprint, invest in smart surveillance and AI-based learning platforms, and strengthen digital engagement with parents.
Founded by Raj Singhal, Purvesh Sharma, and Ashish Aggarwal, the Gurugram-headquartered startup has built a reputation for integrating child-first pedagogy with technology to deliver a transparent and secure early education experience.
Market presence
Footprints currently operates over 175 centres across 25 cities, serving more than 48,000 parents. The centres offer programs rooted in the US-based HighScope Curriculum, with an emphasis on holistic development, live CCTV access for parents, and mobile-enabled real-time updates.
"Our focus has always been on creating safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments where every child’s potential is recognized and developed," said Raj Singhal, co-founder and CEO of Footprints.
"With the support of Tanglin Venture Partners, we are now positioned to deepen our impact and bring our model to even more families across the country."
Focused on expansion
Footprints' expansion plan includes opening new centres, enhancing smart classroom infrastructure, and advancing its AI-driven learning stack that helps personalise developmental goals. The startup also prioritises child safety with rigorous staff vetting, child-safe infrastructure, and real-time surveillance—features that appeal to urban parents seeking trust and transparency in childcare.
Tanglin Venture Partners, a venture firm launched by former Tiger Global executive Ravi Venkatesh, has backed several high-growth Indian startups including Pocket FM, Moglix, Scapia, and Sugar.fit.
"Footprints stands out for its child-first philosophy, high standards of transparency, and scalable, tech-enabled operations," said Sankalp Gupta, Partner at Tanglin Venture Partners. "Their innovative hybrid model makes them uniquely positioned to lead the evolution of early childhood education in India."
